In a two game stretch that tested the fortitude of the Lady Wolverines, Makenna James continued to improve and provide her team a boost when it was needed most. James had 4 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist while only committing 2 turnovers on the weekend. For her performance and continued improvement, she is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION: CiCi Rodriguez
CiCi has been a player to be counted upon through the first half of the season. Rodriguez nearly willed her team to victory against Cheshire with a season high 12 points. The team was missing 3 players including the leading scorer the whole weekend. In the win against Old Lyme, Rodriguez led all scorers as well in the teams 5th win of the season. All told , on the weekend CiCi had 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 assist, and a blocked shot. She is our Honorable Mention this week.
Brian Whalen had a memorable weekend as his team continued to roll. Brian scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and added 4 assists, and 4 steals from the guard position. This included a season high 9 poits and 8 rebounds against Prospect. His work on the defensive end also energized his teammates. For his efforts, Whalen is the Week 7 - Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION: NICO ANDREWS
Nico got the game started on the right note with a 3-point bomb against Prospect on the first possession. It was a solid weekend all around for the guard who scored 9 on the weekend and added 5 rebounds and 2 assists. For his efforts, Andrews is our Honorable Mention for the week.
CJ is the catalyst for the 7th grade team. The program's second all-time leading scorer has taken to his new role as a distributor averaging 5 assists per game. This weekend, he was everywhere scoring 9 points, grabbing 11 boards, dishing out 12 assists, stealing the ball 8 times and adding a block. In addition, he had only 2 turnovers all weekend from the point guard spot and scored efficiently. For his efforts, Callahan is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION: THREE AMIGOS
Callahan has enjoyed having snipers around him on the roster this season. Three stood out this weekend combining for 105 points! Drew Kofsuske, Ryan Gostomski, and Mason Mejias made big basket after big basket leading the Wolverines to a 2-0 weekend. For that, the trio is our Honorable Mention for the week.
Ethan is no stranger to being an impact player. This weekend, the center/forward had 10 points, 27 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 assists. Having navigated a tough stretch in the schedule, Ethan's play is a sign of better days ahead. For his efforts, Ethan is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION: NOAH MASON
Noah Mason was a picture of hustle and heart in his play this weekend. Noah scored 4 points, added 4 steals, and added an assist while providing ball security from the guard spot. For this performance, Noah is our Honorable Mention for week 7.
