COACH MIKE SCHARFSTEIN
No one is more dedicated to the Wallingford Wolverines program than Mike Scharfstein. He lead our 7th grade team in 2023 and they had success on and off the court with an 11 game win streak. 8TH GRADE - LJ HOWLETT
LJ's emergence as an interior scorer increased throughout the season. His improvement on both sides of the ball were key in helping the team. LJ matched his season high of 9 points in four different games.
7TH GRADE - TYLER MARTIN
Tyler improved his overall game from start to end. He had a season game high of 7 points, a 9 rebound game and a 4 assist game. Tyler’s rebounding (4th highest on team) showed his passion and dedication to to the team. His interior passing was key and his hard work on the boards lit a fire under us when we needed it. 6TH GRADE - ETHAN JOHNSON
Ethan is a complete athlete. He plays the game at a level of physical effort that is a notch above his competition. Ethan changed our team, upon returning from football season, giving us an interior force. Although he can score, he can control a game without scoring as evidenced by his 8.8 rebounds per game average!!! His season high in points was 10 and his season high in
8TH GRADE- BRAYDEN LADRIGAN
Brayden led the team in 3 pointers made and percentage and he was a steady scoring threat with games of 24, 21, and 16 points respectively. Brayden was a leader by example with his peers and showed to be a talented and coachable athlete throughout the season. 7TH GRADE - BRANDON BENAVIDES
Brandon, the silent killer on offense, is so much fun to watch. His left handed drives and mid range jumpshots were unstoppable. One of the most consistent scorers per minutes played, Brandon never showed fear to take it to the defense, no matter their size. Brandon was the spark of toughness we needed when nothing was going our way.

6TH GRADE - LOGAN LAPIA
Logan is the spark that ignites the 6th grade Wolverines. Our smallest player has a huge heart. As the season progressed, Logan became a formidable scorer and strong help defender. 8TH GRADE- AJ LAPIA
AJ transitioned into his role this season by focusing on defense, rebounding, and toughness. He was a committed rebounder who led the team with more than 7 boards per game. He also led the program with 51 blocked shots (1.7 per game) 7 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals per game. AJ was our enforcer refusing to let our team be pushed around and it was needed. 7TH GRADE-GRAYSON SCHARFSTEIN
Although often lauded for his offensive talents, Grayson was the anchor of the Wolverine defense. He led the team in rebounds, blocks, and steals. This contribution was a key part of the 11 game win streak of the 7th grade team.
6TH GRADE - CJ CALLAHAN
The "Mini-Mamba" can impact the game everywhere on the floor. The Wolverines 6th grade leading scorer makes the bulk of his points from playing great defense. As an on-ball hound, CJ causes havoc in the press creating a team best 99 steals this season (second in program behind Scharfstein). CJ is the anchor of the D and a deserving winner of the Defensive POY for 2023.
8TH GRADE - BRUCE PERKINS
Bruce can be counted upon like the sun coming up… It happens quietly every day. He did so much in our offense beyond scoring. His season averages tell the story well... 6.4 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 2 assists per game. Bruce helped us in many ways.
7TH GRADE-JACOB ST CLAIR BELL
Every team needs a big guy, tough, plays strong, is determined & has attitude. Now imagine also having a sweet outside jumper & runs the floor like a gazelle with lightning speed. That is Jacob! 2nd highest in Scoring, Rebounding, Steals, Blocks & 3rd in Assists. JSB averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds on the season providing a key interior scoring threat.
6TH GRADE - DREW KOFSUSKE
Drew can take over a game offensively. His 3-point shooting single handedly won us 3 games this season. He plays a physical and fast style of basketball that creates steals on the defensive end and he can play point-forward as needed. Drew gives us a rugged and athletic dimension that pushes the team towards the best version of itself. Drew averaged 7.8 points per game and
