Cadence is working hard to contribute in tough but critical endeavors, like rebounding and defense, this season. This week was no exception as she was a catalyst against Branford and Groton-Mystic. In 2 games of action, KK scored 6 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals, and 1 blocked shot. For her well-rounded effort, she is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION:
CiCi RODRIGUEZ & JAZZY CRESPO
Cici and Jazzy competed very hard this weekend. In showdowns with rival Branford and 2nd-place Groton-Mystic this duo provided scoring and tough D. CiCi had 5 point, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, and a block. Jazzy added 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. The important contributions above earned this duo our Honorable Mention of the Week.
Caroline is growing as a player and this weekend was a great example of that. Caroline had her best all-around game by focusing on the areas that most help her team. In addition to being a willing and decisive shooter, Caroline had a season high 17 rebounds, and added 3 steals across two games vs very tough opponents. For her efforts, Caroline is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION:
MIA NIEVES
Mia is counted upon to do many things for 6G. In addition to being a primary scorer, she is also a defensive enforcer - specifically blocking shots. In two games of action, Mia had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot. For her efforts, Mia is our Honorable Mention of the Week.
Joe has been a reliable shooter for his 6th grade squad. On Sunday, he was an adept scorer inside and outside which displayed a nice left handed finish in traffic. His performance also included spirited play on the defensive end. All-in-all, Valentino had 9 points and 4 rebounds against Guilford to earn the nod as our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION:
CORT HIRSCH
Cort has been cleaning the backboards for his team all season averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. This focus is a huge boost to his team as it creates stops on D and second shots on Offense. This weekend, against Guilford, Hirsch grabbed 9 boards to go along with 2 points, 1 assist, and a blocked shot. For his efforts, Cort is our Honorable Mention this week.
Joey Bozzi has been the 6/7 squad's go-to player so far this season. He is the teams leading scorer, rebounder, and also leads the team in steals. This weekend, his team took on a tough New Britain squad and Bozzi was, once again, a player to be counted upon. For his efforts, Bozzi is our Player of the Week.

FREDDY NYHOLT
Freddy scored his first basket of the season this weekend. That is something that never gets old for our coaches to see the joy that brings to a kid. Freddy scored off a nice rebound and put-back. For his milestone moment, Freddy is our Honorable Mention of the Week.
Cole Howlett has been a stand-out emotional leader of the 7B Wolverines. His task is to control the post on both sidea of the ball and he has done so with gusto. In a statement win vs New Britain, Howlett had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 assist. For his excellent play this weekend, Cole is our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION:
RYAN GOSTOMSKI
Last season's 6th grade team, now 7th, was a team who played lock down defense and was one premier scorer away from being a force in the league. Enter Ryan Gostomski who has reached double digit scoring in every game this season. This weekend Ryan played with poise and calm against pressure defense. He also has been communicating well on both sides of the ball. He had 12 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 3 steals to earn our Honorable Mention this week.
Drew had his best game of the season against Clinton. He was bolting up and down the floor running the break and creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates in transition. In the 41-29 win, Kofsuske tallied 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He was sensational and an easy choice for our Player of the Week.
HONORABLE MENTION:
JAMIE HINE
Jamie has such a smooth game and plays with incredible calm and poise. This weekend, against Clinton, Hine was scoring from the perimiter and inside with drives. He had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and one block. Jamie earned this distinction as Honorable Mention of the week.
