PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 8

4th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

GREYSON CARRAS

Carras was a versatile threat this weekend. He played well in space and ran a flawless pick and roll to help give his team a boost. He finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal.


HONORABLE MENTION:

ROBERT WHITEHOUSE

Whitehouse was a monster on the backboards for his team and added scoring spark to bring his team to the brink of a win over a tough New Britain team.  He finished with 7 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 6 blocked shots. 

5/6th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

GRAYSON TURNER

Turner made his impact on defense this week and his coaches applauded the effort. His growth on the court has also shown in his commitment to rebounding and fundamentals. 


HONORABLE MENTION: 

AIDEN LAHNIN

Lahnin was another defensive standout for the Wolverines. His hustle and heart is a spak for his team and when he enters  the game, a rally is typically about to start. 


6th GRADE GIRLS


PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

EMILY GRAYEB

Emily has been expanding her role this season handling the basketball more and asserting herself in the scoring game. This weekend, Grayeb had 4 points, 5 rebounds, and added 2 steals in a very close game with Clinton. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

CiCi RODRIGUEZ

CiCi is the leading scorer for 6G and a formidable scorer for 7G as well. Her shooting was critical keeping her team in the game until the end as she score 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. 

7th GRADE GIRLS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

ANNIE KANSLER

Kansler had her best weekend of action as she focused on hustle plays and commitment to rebounding and defense. Her season high 5 rebounds were an example as were the 2 steals on defense. Annie also added an assist. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

MAKENNA JAMES

Makenna is a player that gives her all and plays "team-first" basketball. The 6th grader filled in for the shorthanded 7G roster and provided a much needed boost on the backboards with 6 rebounds. She also added 2 steals. 


7th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

MAXWELL MATUSKEY

Maxwell had a standout weekend from the point-guard position. He was able to score the ball and pass effectively for others to score as well. His 19 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and two steals paced the team.  


HONORABLE MENTION:

COLE GERME

Cole is a swiss army knife for the 7th grade Wolverines. He can provide scoring, defense, rebounding, and ball-handling. His weekend stat-line was an example. His 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 assists were key contributions. 

8th GRADE BOYS BLUE

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

LUKE VACCINO

Luke has been working hard to impact the rotation and his coaches have noted his emergence. On the weekend, he finished with 5 points, 6 rebounds, and numerous disruptive hustle plays on defense. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

NOAH MASON

Mason has a solid weekend, especially scoring the basketball. Mason had 25 points, 13 rebounds across his weekend games. Noah has also been developing as a leader and showing major growth in his game this season. 


8th GRADE BOYS GOLD

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

BRAYDEN ANTONELLI

Antonelli provides the luxury of depth in the post position for his team. He is also very versatile as he can score the ball, is a willing passer, and a critical rebounder for the 8th Grade Wolvs. His 9 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals were evidence of his well-rounded game.

HONORABLE MENTION:

ETHAN JOHNSON

Ethan Johnson is a prolific rebounder. Not only is he the programs all-time leader, but he is also one of the teams best defenders and simply plays at an incredible pace. His impact on the game can't be measured by just stats. His 16 points, 34 rebounds, 8 steals, and 1 block were impressive.
