4th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

THE TEAM

The 4B coaching staff has been impressed with their boys and how they have transitioned to travel ball. In their first tournament, the team continued the momentum they've built  and showed signs of a strong season to come. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

KAEDEN KNECHT

Knecht was a force for the Wolverines on both sides of the ball. His 4.5 points per game were complemented by 6 rebounds per contest and 1.5 blocks. 


5/6th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

LEANDRO SANTOS

Santos averaged 11 points per game for the 5/6 squad who competed in the CBC Pre Season Tip-Off.  The sharpshooter also hit 77% of his free throws on the weekend.


HONORABLE MENTION: 

OWEN WILLARD

Willard was a monster on the backboards for the 5/6 Wolverines averaging 8.5 rebounds in two games of action. He also added 3.5 points per game for the tournament.

6th GRADE GIRLS


PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

CiCi RODRIGUEZ

Rodriguez was a dynamic force for the Lady Wolverines all weekend. She led her team in scoring with 8 points per game while adding 5.5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2.5 blocks for the tournament. She also added double duty as part of the 7G team.


HONORABLE MENTION:

SYDNEY REPKO & MAKENNA JAMES

6G played an energetic and gritty brand of basketball all weekend. The energy and spark came in many forms but none more than Repko's 3 point shooting (3 for 4) and Jame's rebounding (she averaged 14 per game). This duo sparked the comeback win vs Branford.

7th GRADE GIRLS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

LILIANA MICHALSKI

Michalski set the standard for effort on both sides of the ball for the Lady Wolverines. Across two tournament games, she averaged 6.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals on the weekend. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

MIA NIEVES

Nieves was superb in contests against HAR-BUR and Groton-Mystic. The point guard averaged 7.3 points, 4 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks on the weekend.



7th GRADE BOYS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

ASHER GAWORGY

Gaworgy led 7B with a balanced performance averaging 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1 block in the season tip-off tournament. 


HONORABLE MENTION:

COLE GERME

Germe was the leading scorer for 7B with 6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3 steals in two games of action against Groton-Mystic and Stonington. 

8th GRADE BOYS BLUE

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

JOEY BOZZI

Bozzi was a swiss army knife for the 8 Blue team this weekend. The wing averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game and was key in helping 8 Blue capture the tournament title.


HONORABLE MENTION:

JADEN DIANA

Diana gave the 8 Blue team a huge spark averaging 12 points per game. The guard also added 2.5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1.5 steals per game for the tourney. 


8th GRADE BOYS GOLD

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

MAX WHITE

White provided a scoring spark and hit big shots right away for 8 Gold. The guard averaged 5.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game over the weekend.


HONORABLE MENTION:

CRISTIANO OLIVEIRA & CHASE CARTER

Oliveira and Carter provided a combination of athleticism, grit, and physicality that  will benefit the Wolvs this season. Oliveira averaged 5 rebounds and 3 blocks while Carter added 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
